New driver broke my GFs webcam, need help!

Actually the sound still works, but the visuals refuse to work. The thing is, she updated a driver that I think was NOT the correct driver. The reason she wanted a new driver is her webcam stopped working with the newest version of Skype. But then she tried a new driver and it stopped working period, she can't even get visuals within the webcam software itself.

I tried going to the manufacturer site (Toshiba) but it is confusing and I can't figure it out.

Here is all of the info I have:

Machine: Toshiba A200 AH6
OS: Vista Home Premium

Original software: Chicony Web Camera (with Assistant Software).. UVC 1.7.129.0328

As for the original software, she does not have a disk or anything, the webcam came installed on her laptop to begin with.

Anybody have any suggestions? Ideally we would like to get her the most updated software and have it work with Skype. But if not that, we at least want to get her back to her original software so the webcam works itself (it was at least working in AIM before she tried the driver...)

PS. Actually, even "in general" I've always been curious as to a good place to find drivers when the manufacturer's site does not have them? Searching around online is messy and leads to a lot of scam sites, I think...
