New Dvd burner problem

Now my computer (windows xp) cant recognize my ide-controllers and it also cant recognize my burner ofcourse.:cry
If i boot my computer and put in a bootable-cd or dvd it works so it must be windows.
I THINK this is the result of a protection system that commes with the bf2142 game i recently bought and installed (and now deinstalled).

Anny solutions would be helpfull.


PS: I already tried to remove it from the non-plug and play devices (as i dont know wich one it is I already crashed my computer several times)
and i am still trying to contact EA support.
IT could be ofcourse an other cause!! And/or other solution
PS2: ITS NOT A NEW DVD BURNER, ITS A NEW PROBLEM

 

Not entirely sure what your saying here.....basically, you installed new software, and now your PC wont boot windows unless you boot from a CD?
Is this right?

Is there also a problem with your optical drive not being recognized by the original windows installation?

what error codes or messages do you see (if any) when attempting to boot?

If you are still having problems, put your XP cd in , and - start, Run,
type in sfc /scannow.You will need to sit by it, so have a cup of your favourite brew, handy.and keep your finger on the mouse ready to click, as retry comes up.
It can take a while, and you will need to keep clicking retry,but it will replace corrupted windows files /drivers.
