So, I know most of you don't seem to watch all that much tv, but I am excited for some new shoes coming on.

A few I'm going to be recording that I'm most looking forward to:

Terra Nova: "Centers on the Shannons, an ordinary family from 2149 when the planet is dying who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization."

New Girl: "A comedy about the sexual politics of men and women." :-D

Person of Interest: "Centers on ex-CIA hitman and a scientist who team up to prevent crimes before they happen."

and not new but worth talking about again because it is a freakin awesome zombie tv series and starts back up Oct 16 (in the US at least):

    The Walking Dead

Laura, what channel is that Terra Nova on? Oh, BTW I thought 'shoe' was a reference to Ed Sullivan.:-D

    It's airing on Fox. :)

lol...I have no idea what you are talking about as far as Ed Sullivan.

You are much too young. :major
The Ed Sullivan show was on in the 50's-'60's. He introduced Elvis, and later The Beatles to the USA TV audience.
He had a funny accent, even for an American, and he pronounced "show" as "shoe". :-D

I WAS wondering how you were going to record a shoe. Maybe take a vid of your feet or something?:confused:confused

On a more relevant note:- Terra Nova is pretty good, i.m.o.; New Girl - NOOOT!!; Person of Interest: Meh - Pretty so-so to me.
But yeah, some good stuff scheduled for Sept. onwards on most stations.

On your recommendation Laura I went ahead and watched Lie to me from the beginning and I have to admit its one of my favourite shows now, unfortunately its now been cancelled after season 3:( Probably to pay for Terra Nova there's more CGI in that than toy story.:-D

Fox has also cancelled Human Target which I was just getting into.

Really looking forward to the second season of The Walking Dead its absolutely awesome and of course Terra Nova.

Anyone watch Lost Girl? I don't like the show but the girl is Perdy:yumj

Also watching reruns of Regenesis and and currently watching the fourth season of Burn Notice which has been a bit of a disappointment so far but maybe it'll pick up,at least I know there's a season five been made.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429422/

Regenesis is a run of the mill PG sci-fi type show about contagious desease but every so he just says Fu&&!:-D Its so unexpected and doesn't really fit which always cracks me up.

I rarely wish I was more into TV than I am, but there are a couple of shows that look sort of interesting this year. Terra Nova would be one I watched if I bothered, along with Person of Interest.

However, I know better. I don't even think to turn on the TV unless someone else does, and my "schedule" does not lend itself toward watching shows that have an ongoing plot. Even if I record them, it won't occur to me to watch them later. Which means I end up watching a LOT of shows in re-runs, in random order, and am typically confused by them. LOL

Did you see these shows already? They haven't been on here except New Girl.

I used to watch Boardwalk Empire. It was a great show but we don't have HBO anymore. :(

Yeah, Lie to Me was great. So was Human Target. I can't believe they were both canceled. :( I remember wondering at what's his name on Lie to Me's accent.

I heard the director of The Walking Dead was pissed off at AMC. They wanted more episodes but the same budget as last season. I'm not sure what ever happened with that. It still doesn't look like a full season, but it's more than last year. I'm psyched for that one to come on.

I love New Girl. My two girls and I watched it last night and laughed pretty much the whole time. I can't imagine it's anything but a chick show though. She pretty quirky which I like.

Oooooo...the ReGenesis looks good. I've never heard of that. (okay...well, now I know why. It never aired in the US. It's not even listed on Netflix) :(

Wow! Really low imdb score for a TV series but I like it:) Just like watching one of the many marvel movies every week,an escape.

Anyone watch Carnivale?Just finished watching season 1.

I've really got into this show lately, has the same feel as boardwalk empire actually but with magic and stuff:-D

Exactly one month before season two of the walking dead premiers in the UK.

I get to see many sneak-peek previews, usually before they air, plus I'm not on the U.S. timetable.;). That way, I get to know whether it's worth the look and the hype at times when they finally get to show the series on satellite/cable.

does "sneak peek preview" mean actually seeing the SHOW (via being in industry or somesuch), or just some extended AD?

if the latter, i've "seen" every show discussed in this thread. but i wouldn't form nor profer any opinions based on that.

  24. Phantom

    Phantom Brigadier Britches

Nope, I've usually watched the 1st Ep or Pilot in advance. - Be pretty lame having an opinion on an ad/trailer rolleyes. Comes from having the right contacts. Unless it's something I'm really not into, of course. I actually watch very little T.V., unless it's some documentary I'm following. (Hint:- You don't need to watch a T.V. show on T.V.)

This dude I do I.T. work for is some big-wig in Ch-9. He has his own theater in his house, (smaller though). Really trips me out every time I go there.:cool There's usually some in-house message going across the screen every now and then, which can be really irritating, but such is life. (Yep, they're on DVD/Blu-Ray). I wish I had a quarter of his equipment, (insert green-envy emoticon here).:(

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1582458/

Just finished watching episode 5 of the first season which I really had to force myself to watch after the first 4 and I've just removed it from the recording schedule. It's absolute doggy doo doo, complete skunk placenta don't waste your time.

If anyone likes it could you please tell me why? Total rip off from 'Wanted' but done much worse if that's even possible because wanted wasn't great by any articulation of the colon.

For those in the UK burn notice is now showing on FX,as is a re-run of regenesis,as is the second season of The Walking dead in a month 'I like FX':-D

Carnivale is on atlantic but you have to wait a couple of months for a re-un of season one,Season 2 of boardwalk empire is also showing on Atlantic in the near future.

    Save you some googling.

    Anyone watch Falling skies?

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1462059/

This was really hyped up and IMO it hasn't met the hype, still a good show and you can tell a lot of money has been spent but not half the show of The walking dead or boardwalk empire is.

If you imagine the cheesy alien type shows from the 80-90's but with modern effects you wouldn't be far wrong, its shown after 9.00pm called 'watershed in the UK' but there isn't any swearing, guts, sex and most of the story lines are aimed at children it seems to me.

I much prefer the dark feel of shows like stargate universe 'another one' and Walking dead.

gotta admit, i had never even HEARD of this show until 3 days ahead of time.

ditto "X Factor" -- i recall simon talking about this show 4 or 5 years ago, but the talk went away and i never saw a single promo.

reviews said that it only got 1/2 the ratings they were expecting. well, DUH -- how about a little PUBLICITY, folks?!

frankly, the show should have had the highest ratings in history, if it had only been properly promoed. what are they THINKING over there?!

i must say, the 2d ep of whitney was 1000x better than the first! all the annoying sidekicks were much more palatable, the annoying MOTHER was absent, and the bf's deadpan was given more room to breathe.

plus, is it just me, or did they turn the LAUGH TRACK down? all the horrid reviews about the first ep point out that we are too used to a no-laugh single camera style now (community/office/park rec/etc), but i just think it was too LOUD last week. after all, big bang, 2.5 men, even seinfeld reruns are chock full of canned laughter. never seemed to bother anyone before the WHITNEY pilot....

    -----
PoI was also better 2d week than 1st...even tho 1st itself was great! that shows is just PERFECT.

    -----
terra nova being rerun tonite for anyone in the US that missed it, btw.

Terra Nova debuted in Australia last night (Sunday) against some pretty stiff opposition programs. :( It will be interesting to hear how it rated.
Bones, and Castle on Channel 7, Underbelly Razor on Channel 9 and The Big Bang Theory on Go! were on at the same time. :cry

I liked it, particularly the roles of Stephen Lang, (Avatar), Jason O'Mara (US version of Life on Mars) and Shelley Conn :)heart)
The rain forest scenery (filmed behind Queensland's Gold Coast) and the CG were good.

It is a pity that TV channels schedule all the good shows on at the same time slot. I think Bones, and Castle, will miss out, for me. 2 of my favourites. :cry
I know that is what they deliberately do, but if you don't want to record it then someone misses out.

    @LauraR.
Underbelly (various series) is probably not shown on US TV, as it is about gang wars in OZ in the '20's.
If you can rent it from a Video store, you might like it. 2 infamous ladies head rival gangs in OZ. (True story)

anything half-popular is available online these days. gone are the days that u have to choose. just google the loser(s).

i've lost a few things to "premiere overlap" myself, but managed to catch every last one after the fact.

alas, i'm on dialup, so it takes me like 3 days/ep to DL.... :cry

no, we never had that, but we haven't forgotten u completely -- another series, "Oz", was quite popular here....

    seems like a rough place.

I missed Terra Nova too, is it worth watching? I just watched the season finale of Dr Who, Alpha's and Torchwood US.
Saw first episode of Dexter online, waiting for Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries is my secret shame show that I watch.
Alpha's started slow but by the end I really started to enjoy it.
Waiting for Being Human UK to start though I don't know if it will be good without Mitchell.
X Factor... not impressed yet, but will wait and see, I enjoyed The Voice more.
Fringe started out with a bang, I love that show! I miss SGA
I am waiting for Bones to start.
Now that my computer is working I am watching too much TV...
