I know how to install the card inside my pc, no problem. I also got a new power supply with 480watts.

My question is should I remove the current video card that is listed in my device manager and then shutdown and install the card.

The current card is a NVidia GeForce4 ti4200 in XP. I am using the latest 66.99ver drivers. These drivers will work much better with the new card.

The best thing to do is find a program called "Nasty File Remover" Install it.

Go do nVidia.com download the latest drivers.

Uninstall the drivers for the current card, Run NFR, put new card in , install drivers for new card. I think the drivers that came with my 6600GT were 66.7X's but I'm not sure. Anyway that will help keep old drivers from interfearing with the new ones and messing things up.

These 6600's are really touch at the moment. Some people are having big problems. I've been lucky. I hope you are also.
