Has anyone seen the (picture) that comes up when you type in an address on Google maps?
Blew me away. My daughter emailed me last night telling me about it (not in detail) I thought she meant the aerial view, but nope real photos. I couldn't find any date as when there were taken, maybe one of you can.

There's a feature where you can scan, rotate and when I did I saw someone across the street in a hoodie, kinda creeped me out what with the things we have had happen.

Anyway, check it out. I was putting in every address I could remember of my past residences.

It's not working for me Darlene, even though I have photos check-boxed. How did you get them to come up?

EDIT: Ok ..now I am getting them to come up....but only if people have uploaded them of their own property. So I have random ones of courtyards and neighbor's dogs, but nothing that would cause me concern. Maybe I'm still not in the right place?

The first time I used it I went to Google.com, clicked on maps, then put in the address

After that I upgraded my Google Earth, (It had been down since my pc crashed) and tried from there, it all worked except one address.

Yep, every now and again you may see a car driving around with a weird, U.F.O. looking disc on top. That’s the panoramic camera. My place was done, too. Judging from the dead grass everywhere and the car in the driveway, it must have been about '05, or something. That said, I've seen them cruising around again lately, so maybe we're due for an update soon. Any faces of people and rego’s on cars get blurred out for anonymity.

Do you mean aerial photos Darlene, or photos as we would see from the front of the house? If you mean aerial, it has been like that for years. Ours is well out of date from around 2003.

Hmm...I see you mention not just the aerial shots so I will have to go explore some more.

I am having no joy using either :-D

Seems there is some problem with the Google Updater and the Google Earth downloads too which Google are aware of and working toward fixing.

    I guess I will just wait...patiently.....or not :p

Bummer, I'm sorry, hope it gets fixed soon

Was thinking what a tool if your moving, you can check out the neighborhood without traveling all over.

Duh, just noticed, I was careful to black out the address in all the places and just saw it on the bottom of my screen shot. Good Grief!

It doesn't pull up individual photos other than satelite for my address. But if you go about a 1/2 away where the roads are outlined in blue, it has an actual photo of the street, house, or whatever of where you are.

    Pretty wild.

It's called Street View and they have been doing it for a while now.

Some are sort of comical. Google Street View Images.

    Streetview?

A way to avoid directions. I know IT IS RIGHT it is not left... I have been here BEFORE!!!!

Actually when I took some metals to San Francisco in May, it helped that I already knew it was a green building near an overpass on East 16th ST

No one I know was on it. They don't have a lot of our area done, I guess.

I brought up all my ex addresses in Ojai, one in Ventura did not show the street and the one I posted is actually in Prunedale (yeah I know) rural hill top, that house had a great view, the only problem with it was my ex lived there too. LOL

Ya, my area was done fairly comprehensively. For example, as below. (No, it aint my house, lol!) LOL.

It's been around for a few years now, at least in my part of the globe. You can see what I mean about it being a dry year. One can zoom in a fair bit further than that, at the expense of resolution.

I tried to change the photo with the address at the bottom, cropped it in photobucket but it does not show in my attachments. ???
It is an old address of mine left in the 80's but still didn't want to put someone else's on there.
    Any suggestions?

Are you talking about the pic you posted, dar?

Just delete it from photobucket. It will break the link.
