new hard drive

    trying to install a new seagate 80gig harddrive on a gigabyte GA-7vm400m mobo, have got it set up as a slave on cable select my other hard drive a maxtor 40gig is saet as master but not on cable select. Now it is coming up on my bios settins but not as seagate but as generic it shows up on my system as generic but not on "my computer" Can someone please tell me everything i need to do set install properly.

    if it's showing up in the bios, but not my computer then all you have left to do, is format your new drive.
    you need to go control panels->administrative tools->computer management->disk management, then format it there.
