hi, i bought a new hdd but was sent a pata drive instead of a sata. Its a WD Caviar drive i've been sent. Basically my intention was to use the new hdd to install Win 7 on it and keep my XP on my other hdd. Should i keep the pata hdd or send it back according to my needs?

From my basic understanding I'd send back the PATA and get the SATA. I believe SATA is more efficient than PATA and will be slightly quicker at accessing the drive even if the RPMs are the same. You may not experience it in the real world but PATA is being phased out for a reason.
