New here and need help

I'm not quite sure which forum to use, but figured I'd start here.
I am trying to find a way to use a 5GB Seagate Microdrive in my Pentax *istD camera. It has the latest firmware for >4GB memory, but all I get is memory card error message. The drive shows up in the card reader on my computer, and I am able to format it in the reader. Ran chkdsk, and all is OK there. I found elsewhere that some microdrives have firmware which prevents them from being used in cameras and other portable devices.
Does anyone know if there is a f/w download available which will correct this? TIA
