    Hello MG

I first want to tell you all thanks for the help I have got from reading your forums over the years. I have fixed many a friends pc from some of your help, I have a friends pc here now that I have already run the MG malware removal guide on. It still has a few problems with fake security pop ups . I will enclose the combofix file and hijackthis file, maybe it will show something.
    Thanks,
    Spud.

You did not attach the logs for SAS or MalwareBytes.....

    However.....

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

Also delete all files in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp
    C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

Be sure to tell us how things are running.

    Tim,
Sorry about not sending the sas and mb log files, here they are. I will wait to do the actions you instructed me to do until your read my other logs.
    Thanks for the reply,

    Tim,
I ran the fix that you instructed me to do, and have attached the logs you requested. As for the question of what is this?...C:\10.1.19.109........It says unknown file and has zero bytes for size. Should I just delete it? I was getting ready to type and tell you that the windows security alert pop up was gone but it just came back up while I was typing this.

The window looks something like from windows firewall, and has shown different things before ranging from bankfraud, greenscreen, tinyh, ect ect.

After performing the first malware removal guide in "read this first"before I posted in the forum, it got rid of the MS antivirus window pop ups, and I was able to have control again of the display properties settings window. Sorry it took so long for me to reply today , I had to work late , and it may be late again tomorrow night also to reply, I have a huge Anatomy/Physiology lab exam(yuk)tomorrow night.

Thank you again Tim for the help so far, I love working on my friends computers for them, I told my buddy I could just format his computer and be done, but there is no fun in that, I would rather fix it!
    Thanks again,
    Spud.

    Tim,
So far I have not had anymore fake security pop up's since this last fix you had me do, I surfed on the net for a little while with no problems so far. What exactly was going on with my friends computer, here are the logs also.

I don't know the name of it or if it actually has been identified....but it's gone now! :)

    Let's clean up.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

If you get a success message, then it is time to do our final steps:

Thank you very much Tim for the help,
    Spud(Gene)...
