New Ipod touch user needs help with apps

I got a new touch yesterday (7/18/09) 2nd gen and I charged, synced, and loaded apps. At first all was working well and now NONE of my apps open. I have done all the recommended unsync and resync, I reset to factory settings, I even restored to factory settings. I have deleted all apps and reloaded and still will not open. I am at a loss and not sure what else to try. I have even upgraded to 3.0 and still they do not work. Any suggestions on what else I can do without having to go to a apple store which is not convenient to my location.
