New Laptop Recommendations?

My current laptop is starting to fall apart on me, and I'm thinking I need to replace it. Last time, I just looked at the specs, said that it would do until I could build a custom desktop computer, and that was that. The thing barely lasted for a year and a half without me having some issues with it. Because my screen sometimes refuses to turn on, I figure other pieces of this piece of junk are about to go soon too (not to mention it would cost me the same, if not more to replace the screen than it would to replace the whole laptop). It's also crashed a couple of times for no reason.

Right now, I'm looking for a laptop that would be fairly durable, something that would last for say... 2+ years? Probably a bit more? I'm a Sophomore in college, so I have two more years left, and I don't want to replace my laptop again until sometime after graduation. I'd prefer to stick to PC. As far as the specs for the laptop go, I'm looking for something that's functional, but I don't need the gaming laptop of the century. In fact, I won't be doing any gaming on this laptop, so that's not a huge concern. The big thing here is price; as you can imagine, as a college kid, I don't make much money (and, as a result I fuel the stereotype... weee~). I'm hoping to spend about 250$-350$ on this, maybe more if there's really nothing that I could get for that much that's actually worth buying.

 

The best I can do is point you to this page where you can compare different makes and models and make a choice. Really, a choice like this is subjective and what we personally suggest may or may not suit your needs.
