New Laptop

Hey guys,
I just got a laptop for Christmas, but I'm afraid that it might not be a good one for gaming, which I would need to do at least sometime when I'm tired of studying in college. It's an awesome display screen, but the graphics card is 128 MB Mobile Intel 915 GM/GMS, 910GML Express. My question is if this card is good enough to play high-end games like Half-Life 2. If not, can it at least play simple games like EA SPORTS?

 

its very low end, wont play hl2, and ea sports isnt a game, its a company branch.

 

That sucks about HL2, but by EA SPORTS, I meant their games. Also, can this card play Counter-Strike Source?

 

Counter-Strike Source has the exact same requirements as HL2. You may be able to play it, but it won't run well at all.

 

then what about ea sports games, such as madden 2006, and hl2 on the lowest settings?

 

I really don't know, but onboard Intel graphics are NOT made for gamers. They are made for grandma and grandpa to surf the internet and write Word documents. To be honest, I don't know if anyone even benchmarks those video cards.

 

Dont think so since they only support older dx7/8 extensions.

 

i think it's dx 9.0 tho...i'm not sure, i'll have to check.
