new pc doesn't start

    hi

    i just installed a new system

    amd64 4000+
    gigabyte GA-K8NF-9
    geforce6000LE 256mb
    1536mb ram
    maxtor 200gb sata hdd

    but it doesn't want to start? :(
    it won't get any further than this:

    keyboard doesn't work either..
    after 10-15 seconds it restarts (same problem)

    help me out pls

    wait..did u buy this..or build it? if you built it...you likely did something wrong..if you bought it.. call up the store...get a refund

    i build it

    it wasn't my first time.. rather the 10th

    but first time i use a SATA hdd

    what could've went wrong?

    aha!

    i took out the extra two 256mbDDR sticks
    and now it works..

    how come?

    now i only have 2x 512mb ddr

    splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

    probably just a bad stick of ram, try them one at a time and see if it works with 1, if so, you have a defective stick of ram
