Is there any reason why you flashed the BIOS before starting the install? The rule of thumb with BIOS flashing is to not do it unless it addresses and fixes a specific issue you're having. It's generally not something you do just to be up to date or just because, mainly because of what is now happening to you. Anyway- run a complete in depth advanced RAM diagnostic. Remove any cards that are not required for a Windows installation; floppy drive, extra CD drives and hard drives, modem, ethernet card, sound card, you can even pull the video card if you have on board video. If the problem persists and you ran the memory diagnostic and it passed 100%, then you may have a bad motherboard, or possibly a faulty on-board device; try disabling the on board sound and/or on board ethernet and see if that works.

Can you post the exact error message and number from the blue screen? Blue screen errors look like STOP:0x000000EA. And posting the exact model of the motherboard would be helpful too.

re:flashing bios the reason was i tried to install on the previous bios first off and got the blue screen with the stop and the pci.sys

i googled it and checked some of the results and recomendations

i also emailed the supplier of the barebone system and cpu for help they also pointed me to the asus site for an updated bios

    the info STOP:0x0000007E (0xC0000005,0xF75760BF,0xF79C2208,0xF79C1F08)
    pci.sys Address F75760BF Base at F756F00 Datestamp 367D855C

i will do a mem test as you suggest and post when i have some results

and the system is ASUS V series V3-M2V890 barebone and the cpu 4600 AMD Athlon X2 processor 2.4 GHz true duel-core design 1MB total L2 Cache energy efficient 65W socket AM2
    thanks again
