    :D Great pics.

First one reminds me of a scene from "E.T."

Second one, looks like he's snoozing after a meal (not a mouse, 'cause that still looks safeLOL)

That's a huge improvement on the cat's part. LOL

    So cute, muskie!

There was actually 3 pictures of the puppy in the cat's bed. He moved around in each, but the cat is in the same exact position in all of them. LOL

P.S. We think we know how the puppy got cut now. When playing with the cat, the cat jumps to turn around and get away. He probably caught the puppy while jumping or landing, because both the full grown animals are learning to gentle with the little "rat". LOL

Yeah, Darlene. Just a couple nights ago. We were both on our computers and all of a sudden there was a bunch of yelping. The pup was bleeding, shaking, and doing the dog equivalent of crying. We were running around looking for first aid stuff and trying to see how bad he was hurt. It turned out just to be a minor scratch below his eye. Looked bad, but wasn't. I haven't done the parent with a hurt kid thing in quite awhile. It was just an accident we think. I don't think the cat would purposefully hurt the pup. He's been protecting it when our boxer was getting a little rough. But now the big kids realize the little kid is very fragile. Heck, the cat outweighs him by at least 16 pounds. LOL And the boxer, well let's just say I'm always calling her a big cow. LOL

Thats why I don't care to have a dog, to much like a kid. Right now we can fill the two cats dishes and the outside cat (although hers gets stolen by other cats in the neighborhood) and leave over night. I would never do that with a dog.

Oh My God! He's sooooo cute! How old is he? He looks too young to be away from his mother. What kind of puppy is he?

    :D lots of questions

    He's adorable.

She's something like 3 months old now, in the pics she was with her mother.. We just got her over the weekend when we moved in to our new house.. and she's a full blooded Chihuahua. We got her free from a good friend of mine. Her name is MuuMuu because of the cow like markings..

Ok way too many cute puppy pictures and Poncho is JEALOUS!!!!
He is supposed to be named Pancho but after the vet and my wife mangled his name, he is named after rain gear instead of a Mexican bandit hero. rolleyes

Being a puppy, he is under constant supervision.

Poncho has a ball, just like Oscar's.
(Oscar must have a smaller one. LOL)

I had to hide your post from my cat, Brad. A chair, pillow, and heating pad?
Mine has a bed and a bowl, shares water with the dogs and a bag of catnip. (Medicinal catnip) LOL
He also has a few stuffed mice that he flips under the worse places to find and follows me around when I hunt them out. (Just so he knows to flip them under a new place)

That is sweet. I had a dog who had just been spayed and she was with pups also, just a week or so. My daughter brought home this tiny kitten the mom had left behind after moving the rest from a neighbors camper shell.
We went bought little bottles, cat formula but I could not get it to go potty. The vet told me to use a cotton ball to stimulate it like the mama cats do. It wasn't working, I was getting frustrated and worried plus the dog was trying to get to it and whining. Finally I held the kitten out for her to see and she started liking franticly and it worked. From then on I fed it it's bottle (like every 2 hours 24/7 ) then handed it over to the dog. She took wonderful care of it but when we tried to introduce food it almost died. I rushed it to the vets, we kept it alive, put it back on liquids but lost it eventually again trying to fed more solid food. I suppose the mama cat knew of it's problem all along and thats why she left it behind. :( :cry

Here is my old pet, "Miko" (named from the Pocahontas Disney movie by a neighbor girl, but spelled different) the raccoon. I got her when she was a few hours old (her mom had a incident with a vehicle) I was going to rehab her for release but she became way too tame, since I had her since birth. I ended up getting a permit to keep her. She was the coolest animal I ever had. SMART doesn't describe her. Could unlock a padlock if she could find the key. And surprisingly calm ('cept when it was playtime) She had her own room which was half of the basement walled off where she went when I wasn't home or sleeping. It was hard to find a vet to care for her, I ended up driving close to 100 miles to the vet. I could go on and on with stories about her. She finally died at the age of 9. Man I miss her...

**I normally don't agree with taking animals from the wild**

    That's amazing. Miko was beautiful.
My only experiences with raccoons are scary ones. (Once trapped one in a metal trash can and thought I had a 100 Tasmanian Devils inside.) :tas
I would have never thought they would make a good pet.

Yes a wild one cornered can be a handful. A little search engining (a new word) can get you some sites of many people that have them for pets (every state is different on the laws regarding keeping them) if they are young they can be very good pets, but you need to think "two year old child that can climb walls" and you have to accept a bit of destruction if left alone (digging up of plants, emptying your drawers, fridge, etc) It would a act of stupidity to try and tame a full grown one. Medical care is similar to a dog as far as shots go. I had miko fixed to combat obesity (common in captive coons.) She was as tame if not tamer than a house cat. She also thought of me as her "mate" and thought she was human (she never seen another coon in her life) The mate part I say because she would get very protective of me when my ex-girlfriend would come near me.

There I go, rambling on about the coonie again...

Knew a few folks with Racoons as pets in Calif., back a few decades. I think some, (licensed) pet stores even sold them - though I can't remember if that was interstate or not. I know they are both affectionate and very intelligent, but as said a handful at times, too. 'Prolly, the laws are way tighter these days.

Weirdest pets I had, (apart from a Black Widow spider, lol), was a terrarium full of black scorpions. ~ Freaked a few people out, I admit. Well, I've owned Mexican Walking Fish and other strange creatures, too - but they were a bit more in the 'normal' range, eh.

I think you'd be OK with a Raccoon, but I don't know about a Fisher

    We relocated this one...

I never would ahve thought of a coon as a pet, but hey, whatever works, glad you had good times with Miko.

I guess it's kind of fortunate that I don't have a lot of pics of Armani (the Chihuahua) with his clothes on... he has a dresser drawer full of them that he doesn't wear any more (since my other half went to the animal psychic and was told that he didn't like wearing clothes..)

The poodle is really amazing. We actually saved his butt from being put down, and I think he knows it. We were traveling to the Cayuga County SPCA about every other week for a while to help out (then gas got really expensive) as they are a no kill shelter, and she saw this raggedy looking poodle with 3 legs and fell in love. Unfortunately, when we first met him, he was going out the door to his 4th foster family, so we didn't really think any more of it. The following week, we got a call from the SPCA, they had a couple new arrivals that desperately needed grooming (my other half is a dog groomer btw) and when we went out there, he was back again. The person who rant the shelter was telling us that he was likely going to be put down as no one could seem to take him in, he had A LOT of issues, including having had his left rear leg amputated at some point. So we of course jumped on that and took him home that same day.

We've had him for almost 2 years now and he is the most lovable little bugger you'll ever meet, and great fun to take for a walk (3 legs gets the little kids' attention) and doesn't let his 'handicap' slow him down.

I do kind of wish we had more of his back story, but we have managed to work through most of his issues (used to have bad separation anxiety, gotten a lot better since) and I wouldn't trade him for much of anything. When we first got him and took him to the vet for a check up, she told us that whatever happened, someone spent a lot of money to make sure he was taken care of properly with the amputation, and that it was most likely from an accident of some sort.

The fun part is that when he gets groomed, she tends to switch up his cuts, so for a while, he was looking like a white schnauzer... too cute.

OK, I think I rambled on enough for now.... LOL
