I was working my way through my favorite forums this morning, went off to take care of the canaries, and when I got back, the highlighting of all the threads with new postings was gone. They were highlighted. Now they all appear as read.
Okay, I'm an addict, but not that fast of a reader. It wasn't just the threads in the forums, but in my User CP as well. There were about 4 waiting with new posts when I left the computer for those few minutes. When I got back, they weren't listed anymore
:)

Could well be an effect from the change of servers yesterday.

hmmm ... bizarre ...
My 4th (count them ... 4) attempt to post to you. weep weep! It worked before. First no backspace. Then when I hit apostrophe it sent me into the FF search bar over and over again. Now the whole text disappeared when I hit return. (thinks this is one of those multiproblems that stems from self-created paranoia)
I started ... weep weep ... to ask you a very simple question. (borrows Bazza s avatar to beat head on desk. I wondered if you could tell me what Microsoft Data Access Components (KB 870669) refers to and if it is something I need.
okay, before anything else happens, I will copy this and then try and send it again.
Thanks!

it refers to this:

as a security update, I would personally get it if your being offered it as an update from MS.

Are you having the same issues on any other forum or website or just this one?

Hi Halo,
The only problems I've been having have been here. Now the highlighted threads are highlighted again, but I still can't get into the forum through the e-mail notifications. There was a posting this morning by Bazza about his own difficulties posting, but I've lost or forgotten the thread, so here I am ... back at you. I did try tracking down a 133t.exe file this morning on Google and ended with a single (only one!) reference to a website which I tried to open but it was "forbidden". I don't think "forbidden" is the same problem as what I'm having here at Major Geeks.

I noticed that site that listed 133t.exe but its not the issue here that one is the sites closed to un-authorised viewing, the cached page didnt show much on that file either as its how they rank members, seems google picks it up and doesnt recognise the "."

the email links will work themselfs out soon, sometimes DNS progapation works quickly and sometimes not.

They've changed the link address - as in:
http://forum.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93435&goto=newpost
to:
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93435&goto=newpost

They forgot to change the automailer program to fix this. I'm sure somebody's working on it by now.:)
