The Mac fanboy. I hate these people as much as the stupid people.

Now let me say now, that I have nothing against the Mac computer, or it's users. I have very limited experience with the Mac's. I prefer a PC because, well, I like games. If I had the money, I would buy a Mac laptop just to check it out. I wish Apple would make an operating system for a PC, I would probably buy that just to check it out.

Now from my research into the Mac world, they boot off firmware, like a router, as opposed to the BIOS the PC folks are used to. Nice. But o/c could be a problem. (Don't worry, the rant is coming.) The Mac does not have a virus problem. Well, neither do I. I have 4 computers, and no antivirus software, and no problems for a couple of years. Now sure, a Unix based OS is better for security and virus stuff.

Now, the rant! I hate the uppity Aholes that love to spout off how they love their Mac because it can be set to erase the browser history when they shut down the browser. (Lex and Terry radio show this morning. http://lexandterry.com/index-2004.html). Newsflash, Firefox can be set to do that also. I really hate when a fanboy shows up in a Windows virus forum and just says 'get a mac'. Yeah, that will fix my pc problem... You have seen them, like getting a mac is going to fix my whole life. I think I would pwn that Mac dude in Counter Strike...

Mac's can't get a virus. You got me there. Mac's don't lock up, really.., yep, they can. And in my opinion, buying the computer from the OS maker, well, yeah, it is all compatible, but I am not buying a PC from Gates! I like the customization of the PC.

I have diverged a bit from my original premise, and I am sorry. My rant is against the folks that have Mac's and just post around in PC forums to just get a Mac. So if my Chevy won't start, I should not fix it, I should buy a Ford... Screw both of them, I drive a Nissan.

I know my ex-wife got an iMac long ago, but we didn't have it a week before taking it back because she didn't like the operating system interface. She wanted to maximize the browser window and couldn't. I'm sure there's a way, but she wasn't very patient with it. I know this is before OS X, and I've never even touched a Mac since then.

I totally agree that there are some Mac users out there that just think it's the best thing out there since sliced bread. You'll also get others that'll say that about Windows or even Linux. All I say is just go with what you feel most comfortable with and go for it. There will always be people that'll say "Oh that's not a good thing. You should use ________." All I do is just let it roll down my back and let it go, but there might be times that I'll be tired of the garbage and tell that person off.

I have no problems with someone recommending say Red Hat or Mandrivia Linux or anything like that. It just costs too much for my budget to get a Mac right now, but maybe sometime down the road I'll give it a try once more.

in truth, the only thing I truly hate about most mac users is that they have to open up their mouths and go on and on and on about how great some insignificant feature of their 8 year old mac is. that grows tiresome.

not that there isn't PC users that do the same thing, I just don't have to deal with them

and any jackass that responds to a request for help with "buy a mac" should be impaled as a warning to all others that such actions will not be tolerated when I rule the world

Buy Italian, get to know your dealer on a very regular basis.

I'll stick with my Mercedes.

Well, I was wondering how this would go over, looks like all is well. And my rant is not against the Mac or it's users, just the fanatic ones. Let me give you an example of the true Mac FREAK...

A while back my boss got another hard drive for his computer and asked me to put it in. No problem, except the case is a mid tower or smaller, and we got it crammed with stuff, so while I am quietly cussing and installing said drive, a customer walks over and asked what I am doing. Ah just tossing another hard drive in this computer. His reply... "That's why I love my Mac." WTF? What does the machine or OS have to do with installing a hard drive? That, and the ones that just post 'get a mac' in PC forums in reply to any PC problem.

ha today i actually had a mac lock up while my teacher was presenting a powerpoint on his macbook. the only explanation: its a mac (adryn, dont hurt me 'cause im ignorant to macs lol. i used to play bugdom on my friend's mac so they arent THAT bad)

 

Not sure how the title gods work here, but I thought about it and Sir Rantsalot sounds funny to me!

I have do sometimes get to a point where I post too often. If I begin to do that, please shoot me a PM and let me know. Trust me, I got rants...
