My student loan check just cleared, so i'm about to build me a new computer. I sold my old one this summer for $$ for a car.

    heres what i'm thinkin

    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
    Athlon XP 3500+ socket 939
2x512MB OCZ pc3700 EL Gold edition Rev. 3
Leadtek 6800GT (unless I can find a BFG 6800GT OC in stock for cheap at best buy)
    Lite-On SOHW-1633S Black DVD burner
Thermaltake Tsunami VA3000 black case (still debating)

Samsung Syncmaster 710T 17" LCD 12ms pixel response

I kept my PC Power & Cooling TurboCool 510w PSU,
along with my SB Audigy Platinum EX, and Leadtek TV card.

should be fun.. but i'm still debating which case and which heatsink to use. I was all ready to go for the Thermalright XP-120, until i saw the price, and read some not so magnificent reviews on it recently... though I've always loved thermalrights.

any thoughts are welcome... especially if you have an opinion on a nice case or heatsink. :D

    $356 retail :D

@Zulu, dont be mistaken, I'm broke as a joke....but student loans have to hold me over for now...my job only gives supplemental money. thank goodness my major's starting salary is around $80,000 :p

    looks good. real good. wow.

one thing i might add to it is my opinion on the power supply: i've never heard of it, and well, not that it's bad or anything but you might want to consider something else in case it won't hold up to the power requirements

what speakers are you going ot use?

    hehe silly strogg,

not meaning to offend, but PC Power & Cooling make the best PSU's in the industry. (FAR overpriced though)

oh, and my Klipsch Promedia 5.1's I kept from my last system.

    any thoughts on case/HSF?
