new router new problems

went from a Netgear wgr614 to a Netgear N900 and now my old tablet pc's which are running xp tablet 2005 wont Validate the Identity.

I assume you referring to connecting to the network wirelessly.
I've found that even if you set the network name and passcode identically you need to remove and re add the network profile to each device before they will reconnect.

(Just did this a few hours ago myself after getting annoyed and resetting the router to factory defaults.)

This may be one of two things I thinks. One issue could be that you have Mac security on, if that router permits it and the tablet is not in the table. The other sounds more like a DHCP issue where you are not receiving an address because you're not authenticated properly. If you're authenticating via passphrase then perhaps it is wrong.

 

I've had to do what davep1553 did. I had to remove the connection from my list of wireless networks on my laptop and add it back in.

I made my SSID and my password the same on the new router just so that I wouldn't have to enter it again but it didn't work for every device.
