New seagate hd overheating?

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if this is normal. I have a brand new seatgate 120 gig hd in my computer because my old hd died. I have installed it and noticed that iit runs much warmer than the old one did. So just now, i went to everest just to be on the safe side to make sure its not overheating or anything and it appears to have a thermostat for itself and according to everest it is running a steady 106 F. Im not sure if it is overheating or if it is just a warmer running temp. If someone can tell me what is going on it would be great. The drive is 7200 rpm and the old one i think was 5400. So it is a faster drive. But im not sure if that temperature is normal or not.

i think it just runs warmer then you are used to
my wd 120 gig ata drive at 88f(31c)
2 maxtor satas running 106f(41c) and 102f(39c)respectively

 

So that is normal for it then because you may have a point cause i really dont have the money to buy a top- notch system and i use old ones that i fix up. But if yours runs a similar temp it may be normal. Right now i am running 102. So maybe it is normal....

Im at 75F on my lappy ...Id put a fan on it but its up to you ..like with any PC part the cooler the better ..but your temps are still well in the safe zone ...what i used to do in my desktop was put a little cheap heatsink paste inbetween the hard drive and the case so it helps disipate heat throw the case ....

 

I dunno maybe its ok because i know my cpu runs a cool 75. But when i do not use the system it is in standby so the hd is shut down by the computer so that is one way i keep the internals cool.. But if that is normal im gonna leave it as is. Thanks for the help guys.
