Forgive me please if this is not technically a "Networking" question...

I've moved to a residence, which is pre-wired with "cable" (phone/net/TV).

All I will have to "connect" (for a month or two at least), is this Netbook/Laptop, which I'm typing on now (from a WIFI Hot Spot).

I'd like to perform (and feel perfectly capable) that which the ISP refers to as a; "self-install".

When I go to their office to start the process of getting service connected, what should I expect to get from them (as far as internet goes), simply a modem, please?

(I already have plenty of Ethernet cable(s), coax, phone wire/cable, etc.).

    Thanks in advance,
    g . . .

Don't really know 100%. Most homes are pre-wired but you still have to have it installed. Typically they send you out the door with a CD-ROM, a router and their best of luck wishes. Anything else they give you thats included that you dont need you might as well keep. I have done a self install but I assume they vary from place to place.
