Thanks in advance guys! This computer used to star-up without reason, until finaly worked. So, this lady asked me to help and I did this, cleaned everything, included the chip's fan and put a little bit of new paste.

I checked the monitor and the chip temperature shows 57 degrees C.

It is Pentium III, (packed in a FC-PGA), 866 Mhz., 256 RAM, sound, video, LAN on board; Motherboard is an old M754AL; 80 Gigs HHD, CD-Rom and CD-RW, Floppy and running WINXp Pro Corporate Edition.

Now, is running really quiet, but does not start-up, I tried all the options available (safe mode, last good conf., etc) and finally stuck and gives this message:

    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\Windows\system32\drivers\alim1541.sys???

    What could be wrong now???

    Thanks for your help!

Quick google search shows that alim1541.sys could be a Microsoft graphics driver. It may have gotten corrupted, so you may want to try removing, rebooting, and, if needed, reinstalling the graphics driver.

    Hope this helps.
