Well I spent 6 hours on my new system yesterday and got no where good. Asus A8n-E Mobo, 7800 GT PCIE, Corsair XMS Ram, Maxtor SATA Drive,

I can get windows installed no problem, I get it up and running, the first two times as soon as I installed the sound card driver (Audigy 2 ZS Plat) after a reboot it would just lock up at the windows loading screen, the third time I decided to disable the sound card, everything went fine except IE would crash with a BSOD (XP Pro SP2). SO I managed to get firefox through my LAN then everyone started to randomly get the BSOD.

So if anyone has any ideas they could toss towards me I would appreciate it, my next choice to to swap RAM, try it again.

You might start by checking the sound card and your memory. A defect in either might cause the BSODs you're getting. (Of course, other causes are possible too, but those I've identified would be my primary suspects at this point.)

Try the card in another machine if possible, or see if you can get the dealer that sold you what you've got to provide a loaner to check it out.

For the memory, it's probably easiest to use one of the memory-testing utilities that you can find in MG's download area. Sorry -- I don't know which one would be best for you. Maybe someone else will offer a comment.

You might also try going to Audigy's website for driver updates for your card. There may have been a problem with the drivers you got that wasn't discovered until after your version had shipped. It happens -- surprisingly frequently -- with video and sound cards.

Memtest is a good program for that kind of thing.

Well I did a reinstall with a new XP Disc, so far so good, Idownloaded the latest ZS2 driver, installed and it locks up on start up, nothin really in event log. So I pulled the ZS, started again. Gonna try the on board sound next, but seems to be a SB problem. Ill update in a bit. About to install NForce and Geforce drivers

I'd also try a different PCI slot for your sound card.

Well it runs just fine without the card, im a little peeved, its caused by the driver somehow, once I install im screwed even if I pull the card out....so im using the onboard sound which is 8 channel.

Holy jesus, I cant believe how beautiful everything is, I was playing doom3 1280x1024(LCD Nat Res) with 16x Anti Aliasing and everything maxxed just fine, it looked so beautiful, same for HL2. Definately happy with the performance now that I have it running smooth. Thanks for the responses guys.

Can you list the order in which you install the OS service packs, drivers, software, etc?
