    Good morning all.

I am not the best when it comes to the computer as in the technical side of it. This morning, I got on the computer and noticed that it was running very slow, and that when I tried to open Excel it would not open for me, it automatically goes to try and instal it, which I don't understand why.

Also, in my add/remove programs I saw something very weird and not sure what it is: NEED2F~1\bar\1.bin\Nd2fnBar.dl\ -- I cannot remove it - can someone tell me what in the world this is -

I am very confused - and have no clue on what I should do, any help would be great -

    Thanks so much.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Here are all my results. I am still having problems with excel still not running, and photo gallery that also tries to install itself, like it is no longer on the computer.

I also noticed one of these scans have Kazaa on it, but I had removed that long time ago, so I don't know how to find it.

    Any help would be great.

Also, could you explain to me what you see in these logs, I don't understand them. I could not run the BitDefender, but I did do everything else step by step like requested.

    Please do the following:

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2

Make sure you reboot after uninstalling the above!

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger.

Next open Counterspy and click on Last Scan / Manage Quarantine and select all the items from that scan to quarantine.

When you have finished all of that, go to add/remove programs and uninstall "Big Fix"

Lastly, you seem to have multiple spyware programs (
AOL Antispyware, SpywareDoctor, BullGuard,) ..Are any ot these paid for programs. I would recommend that you delete all but one.

Let me know how things are running after doing the above.

Tim thank you so much for your help. I have done as instructed, Excel still isnt on here as well as something called Photo Gallery.

Do you think I just need to re-install? Also, what would have caused Excel to just uninstall like that, I am confused?

Now also do I keep all the programs I had installed to clean it up or do I have to get rid of them?

Did you do a previous system restore? Have you run a search for the files? Are they still listed in the add/remove program files?
Please get new logs from GetRunKey, ShowNew and HiJackThis and attach them.
    How are things running?
