    Hey Gang,
Read through some of the posts and did not find something that fit so here goes.

Have and older Dell XPS 266 that I installed a P3 600mhz (@133mhz) Processor, Due to the 66Mhz bus it is only running at 300mhz.

How can I boast the the FBS or multipliers to use the capablities of the processor, and what am I looking for in the Bios?

    Thanks

In the BIOS you'll be looking for something like "CPU Multiplier" or "FSB". Generally the settings will be somewhere under "Advanced CMOS Features"

Im not very good helping other people with overclocking as i am in love with the ease of my Award BIOS from ASUS. Although try reading ACE 256's Overclocking thread.

sometimes you can't change fsb settings in the bios but have to use dip switches, read your m/b manual :)

Like Sleepygamer said, your gonna have to look into the original mobo manual for this one, you will need to find the CPU FSB multipliers, usually two sets, one for the multiplier and one for the fsb speed. Although personally I wouldn't recommend it be done on a pentium 3, after a couple of years the thermal paste becomes obsolete/not there, has happened on my P3 and my cousins P3; basically the core separated from the sink.

Dell purposely does not include bios adjustments for v's, fsb or multipliers to keep the reliability sound as well as limit related correspondence created from such activities. Only recently has Dell come out with some gamer systems that will OC. You can find software applications and/or hacked bios that will sometimes give you minimal speed increases on older systems. There are even some CPU pin re-wiring technigues you can find that work on some models. But in the end they are not worth the time and effort and can create more problems than they may solve. A Dell is a Dell and for its intended purpose it does a good job. Had one and used Powerleap adapters to change pin and voltage so newer CPU's could be used. Those adapters have all been researched to work on the models they are recommended for and use CPU's for the existing fsb.
