new to this please help

hi
i am new to this.i am having loads of issues with my main pc.
it has windows vista on it.i have been unable todown load and install zonealarms firewall,avg or adaware on to it.
it keeps coming up with unable to connect to server.but i can get on line what does this mean???
also i am unable to update windows!!!
can anyone help????

There's a real good chance that you have malware. Some of the newer modern viruses/trojans are known to block certain programs and web sites from loading correctly. They do this as a form of 'self preservation'. If they can block the installation/updating of antivirus programs and Windows security settings, then they have a better chance of living on your PC longer. I have removed malware from MANY systems that haven infections like this. You can start by reading the world famous Major Geeks Guide to Malware Removal and following the steps outlined. Then post in the malware removal forum if you do indeed have an infection. Good luck!
