I have picked up trojan.downloader-newjuan/vm. I've updated my super antispyware which says that it is looking for this trojan but it keeps coming back. Would the read and run me first section take care of this? From what I've read when I googled this trojan other people are having no luck when they run those programs. Please advise.

You are way out of date with SUPERAntiSpyware's main program. You need to do the below.
    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this first log.
Now explain what problems (if any) you are still having.

Ok, here's the new log. It did find more stuff but even after I ran the program and rebooted something tried to change my homepage and something is trying to disable my McAfee. I've ran all the programs in the the read and run me first section. Any other suggestions?

That's not the new version of SUPERAntiSpyware. You need to do exactly what I said to get the new version. You must uninstall what you have. Follow my steps again exactly as written.

And exactly what do you have installed from iolo? What is included in the package you installed? Does it have an antivirus? A firewall?

Now continue on with all of the below.

Uninstall Java(TM) 6 Update 6 which is out of date.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - AutorunsDisabled - (no file)
    O9 - Extra button: Poker Host Poker - {6F0B853A-A2B7-4e17-8DA1-BBC6F2E8C8D5} - C:\Program Files\PokerHostMPP\MPPoker.exe (file missing)
O18 - Protocol: linkscanner - (no CLSID) - (no file)
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: nbzudq.dll

NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now goto this link Using MGtools and download the new version of MGtools.exe from the black bold print link in the first sentence. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

Run MGtools.exe then attach the below logs:
    • the new log from SUPERAntiSpyware
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Ok, had some problems.
DL'd the superantispyware and got your log below.
Next, after the java removal, i ran the MGtools\analyse but the 04 - HKLM\..\Run: [Quicktime...... wasn't there. The others were and checked and fixed them.
Next was the big problem. I tried running the combofix 3 different times with the last one running 10 hrs and all 3 times it froze and wouldn't run.
I went ahead and ran the MGtools and added the log below. I havn't installed the new Java yet.
The iolo is just a repair program I use. It does have virus and firewall but I don't use them. I only use my McAfee.
    So whats next??

That's because of McAfee which needs to be shutdown before running ComboFix as described in the original procedures for ComboFix. This always applies. Commercial software like McAfee gets in the way of special removal tools performing their jobs. Too bad they work as well in blocking the real malware to begin with. We will fix this a different way.

If the package contains an antivirus and a firewall, it must be uninstalled to avoid conflicts with McAfee. That is unless you were able to install without the AV and firewall to begin with.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Do not change any check box options!!
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:
    • Now click the Execute button.
    • Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    • Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    • Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

After reboot look for all of the above files we had Avenger attempt to delete. If you still see them, delete them yourself.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now goto this link Using MGtools and download the new version (yes there is another new one) of MGtools.exe from the black bold print link in the first sentence. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

Run MGtools.exe then attach the below logs:
    • C:\avenger.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Just to let you know, I did disable the McAfee when I ran the Combofix. Ok, I did everything you said in the previous post. Went back through and couldn't find any of the files you said to look for. I am attaching the logs. i had ran another superantispyware so I am attaching that also. The comp. seems to be moving a little better but I'm not sure.

Unless you actually disabled all the services that are running, it was not disabled.

    Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
