New video card help?

I'm not very good with computers at all,but I just got this machine on Friday, and am looking to order an awesome video cars.

I was gonna get a geforce 6800, but I'm thinking it won't run, here's a bit of specs


Pent 4 w/ Hyperthreading
160GB Harddrive
300watt Power Supply

I'm thinking I'm going to need to order a new power supply too, or is this even the right number?

 

Do you have pci-express or agp? How much do you want to spend? Are you into gaming a lot? questions, questions, questions.....

 

haha yeah, I forgot to mention that vital part.

It's AGP, I'm pretty sure, how do I confirm?

I want to at least stay within $200, and yes, I bought this PC mainly for gaming.

for 200, the best you can get right now is a 6800gs and should hold up fairly decently with modern games, as well as those to come. How much RAM do you have? 1 Gig is plenty for now and if u dont have that, get some more. You can check to see if you have AGp or PCI-E by looking at your mobo physically or downloading Everest Home (from this site) and looking in there. Post a log if you get confused. What model of computer did you buy anyways, just curious, or did u build it?

O yeah, how powerful is your power supply? You'll need at least 350 to run a 6800.
