I have Windows Vista OS which has been infected with New WIN32 virus. I ran a full MacAffee scan and around 600 files were quarentined. Many of these were .exe programs for applications I have on the PC and when trying to run any of these from a shortcut I get an error saying the program has been moved. Back in MacAffee to restore the .exe files and the restore function is disabled...

So I shut down to worry about it tomorrow... and now when I boot back up I get an error message "Interactive logon process initialisation has failed. Please consult the event log." I have tried to boot from the install disc and have run the Start Up repair option but to no avail. I still get this error.

Could anyone give me some direction...

    Many Thanks.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

If your PC is unbootable, there is nothing we can do for you here. What I suggest is the following:
    • If you have a valid license for McAfee, you need to speak to them about the damage caused.
    • Try working with someone in our Software Forum to se if you can get your PC bootable.
If McAfee was removing EXE files, it would sound like you had a PE file infector like Virut of similar, but I would expect them to be smart enought to not remove any required system files.
