New Windows 7 Pro Machine X64 Error When Trying To Install Software

Had new Windows 7 Pro machine a couple of days tried to download and install Samsung Smart Switch today to do a phone backup and was greeted with an error

'application failed to start becuase side to side configuration is incorrect' Please use application event log or use the commnad line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail

The machine worked fine before and I have succesfully loaded different applications in last couple of days no issues. Can anyone suggest a fix or is it onto the suppliers helpdesk?

If the system is new and within warranty just GET A NEW REPLACEMENT!
You trying to correct it might possibly invalidate the warranty.

From that site, Maralin offered an answer, and it appeared to have worked as a fix 375 people - C++ updates for 2008, and 2010 x 32, and 64 bit - I would not think installing those would invalidate any warranty for your system . New computers don't have everything installed, and quite often loads of stuff you don't need.

 

Max's link does not always open correctly, but from there, it appears that updating c++ for 2008,and 2010, for both x32, and 64 bit had succeeded in solving 375 other users with the same problem.
I seem to remember a c++ fix on here at majorgeeks- I will look for it and come back.
Updating c++ makes sense as it can be to be the programming needs of that particular problem.
