Newegg.com = Teh Suck?

    I've ordered from Newegg.com twice now.
    The first time was about a year ago, and it went great.
    I placed an order about a week ago, and it sucked.
    Newegg used to be famous for customer service...
    But now I can get the same treatment from Fry's...

    Anyone else notice a difference over the years?

    I've always had good fast service.

    Nope...recent experience with Newegg was faultless.

    I have to say that I wish everyone treated me as well as New Egg. Most of the time, the order is shipped the day I order it, and I have it in two-three days. Unless it has to come from California. I ordered the wrong Ram once, and they took it back and had my money refunded quickly. In most cases, they give you free 3 day shipping too.

    Love Newegg, never had any trouble and I have ordered a lot of stuff from them through the years, living in Ca. at my door before I know it.

    I've probably ordered from them at least 20 times in the last year. Only problem was when they were out of something I ordered, I had to email them a couple of times to make sure they would give me credit back on what they charged me for the out of stock item. :(

    I've only ordered once from Newegg - it was a good experience. Overall, I never hear about ongoing problems with their service.

    Kinda off the question, but . . . my employer once ordered from TigerDirect, and it took over a month to get some RAM from them. I've done most of my on-line computer related purchases from an outfit called Directron.com. I've bought tons of stuff from them and have always been pleased. They are based in Texas.

    I've never had any problems with Newegg or Tigerdirect. I don't often order more than a couple of items at a time though. Usually I get it within a day or so, unless it has to come from California.

    I think no customer service is faultless and one minimally inconvenienced experience by one person does not mean the whole company has gone to hell. I just think between you and them lies the post office. Enough said.

    Nice thing about NewEgg, is that they tell you when it shipped, and give you a tracking number. I had one delivery that was slow, and following the progress, I saw it hit bad weather in Kentucky, and again in Orlando which is an hour away, and in Melbourne, which is 5-10 minutes away. I know that in fact there was no bad weather in the area, so I can blame UPS for the imaginary delay.
