Nextbook 8 (next8p) touch issues

Hello everyone I am new here and am reaching out for some advice. I have a next8p my problems went from kinda bad to bad bad with my tablet and it all began when I opened it up to investigate why my power jack was acting funny and requiring force to even get it to charge, to make a long story short I fixed the power jack issues with a bit of solder on the connections but now the issue is my touch screen digitizer don't seem to work after i have disconnected the little ribbon cable. It seems as though the digitizer don't even get power anymore because the buttons don't light up. I am almost positive i plugged it back into the motherboard right. Does anyone out there have some advice, tips, tricks that could give me? Thank you all

Check that ribbon cable again.

 

I rechecked the cable and noticed a very small tear, its so small that it seems like it would still work. Do you you have any tips on what i can do to possibly repair it?

 

The wire leads in that ribbon cable are small. You can try this:

You can also look for nextbook related forums and see if anyone is parting one out.

 

Thank you for the suggestions. I found a used digitized and installed it and it is working great now. I need to replace the tape that holds the digitizer ribbon cable down, Do you have any suggestions on a special tape? the tape touches the motherboard so does it need to be conductive or can i just use any kind of tape?

use nonconductive tape.

 

ok Thanks for the info ill go to walmart and find some good clear tape once this indiana snow storm clears up!
