Nextbook

:banghead Bought a Nextbook 8" tablet with 8GB. Anyone familiar with this? Bought it for Netflix and apps for grandchildren and for something to do on plane. It is Android jelly bean 4.1. Tried downloading free and some chargeable apps. Kids like cooking games like donut maker. The apps icons appear on my tablet, but they won't play beyond the 1st screen or two.

1. Is 8GB too small for Google Play apps? Some apps say not compatible, and won't download, but I can't get the compatible ones to work. Very disappointed. Thinking of returning it.

2. Is this a common problem with android tablets?
3. Also it appears to discharge battery even when it is not on. Is that normal?

4. Is giving the apps permissions of all kind risky? Why do they need them?

No. I have one with 8GB internal storage. Like yours, it has a slot for an microSD card, which you can use to save music, pictures and video, saving the internal storage for Android stuff. You can buy them in various capacities for a reasonable price.

The Play store is set up to keep you from getting apps that won't work on your tablet. Apps meant for older Android versions or smartphones may not work.
As for the others not working, have you tried resetting it? Instructions should be in the box. If that doesn't work, exchange or refund it. I've never had major issues with apps not working and there is no reason for you to put up with it either.

It's in sleep mode. You probably have to hold the power button down for a few seconds to get the dialog to actually shut it off completely.
