Nice little Port Wine

Well, if you don't know me, I love my wines. :-D Winter finally hit Louisiana, we have rain and 30 to 40F temperatures, which is normal winter for us. We get some freezing temps, but this is the South, I hate the freaking cold, so I don't live up in the north!

Perfect weather for a glass of Port! I bought a bottle of Port made by John Croft. Distinction Porto Special Reserve. Sounds expensive, but it retails a little over $20. Very nice stuff! Not a Vintage Port, so it is not for aging, but dang, for the $ this is a nice winter drink!

I do love the old vintage ones. There is just something magical to me to drink something bottled 30 years or more ago. But that is not everyday drinking stuff! This is a nice drink on a cold night.

Isn't Mardi Gras this month? Sounds kinda cold to be bareing it.

 

It is next month up here in North Louisiana. We have a lame 'parade' one evening. Now down south, where it is warmer, they get the crazy fun Mardi Gras going on.
