First, we need to know exactly what service pack you have installed. You said "I'm pretty sure it's SP3", but the report says you have SP2. It may be reporting SP2 because of the registry change you made. You should have changed it back. If you're unsure of the actual service pack installed, go to Add/Remove Programs and see if Service Pack 3 is listed down near the end of the list. If it's listed, that means that SP3 is installed and you should change the registry to reflect that. Then uninstall any current sound drivers you have installed and restart the PC. Download and install the chipset drivers from this direct link and restart the PC when the install is done. Then download the sound drivers from this direct link, but do not install them. Unzip the download and install it using the steps in this thread; in steps 6 and 7, you'll point the Wizard to the folder named WDM in the unzipped audio driver folder. After the driver has installed, restart the PC again. That should do it! Let us know how it goes.

(your PC uses RealTek HD audio, and you can download a 'generic' version of this driver from this link; it can sometimes work better than 'customized' drivers; if you have SP2 installed and not SP3, then you'll need to install KB888111 before installing the sound driver, but after installing the chipset driver; if you have already installed KB888111, uninstall it, then reinstall it using the download from this direct Microsoft link)
