    Hi all

I have a hp compaq presario f700 windows vista service pack 2. I have lost sound and have a red x over the speaker sign. Also as i hover the mouse pointer over it; it states that no audio output device is installed.

I went to device manager to see if i could fix it and there is no sound, video or gamecontroller option there.

I went to the hp website to download audio drivers and when i do i get a message stating driver installation failed could not find the device for this driver

I tried using microsoft fix it with no success

I've made sure that audio was enabled and automatic upon start..

Please help don't know what else to do
