I've read almost every thread here and non of them helped me with my problem. Plus most of them are for xp/me/2000/vista with sp 1-2-3. I've installed everything i need and codes from Realtek but still nothing. And the thing is when it was giving to me it had no sound and was running win 7 home.

It now has WIN 7 ultimate x64
    3gb ram
    Realtek HD dv: 6.0.1.5904

It says everything is working and every now and then i get a clicking noise out of the speakers I loop music just to check for sound and i can see the green bars going up and down when i play music. Can anyone run me by some fixes that might work?? I was thing it could be my MB but was told to try everything else before i go out and get a new motherboard.'

    Thanks

I DL this program called Driver Genius pro and it stated my realtek was out dated and 4 other drives i had. So i let it find the up dates and install them. And with everything updated but still no sound. All other drives work fine now.

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

    Greetings, LiqidDeath.

We need some more info from you: what's the make and model # of your machine?

Also, please download and run Free PC Audit, a stand-alone system information tool.

(If you get a Security Warning, don't worry about it - uncheck the 'Always ask before opening this file' box, and click 'Run').

When the scan completes, click File > Save As, name the file 'Report', and save to an easily found location, such as your Desktop.

Then attach that file to your next post per these instructions: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post.

If this is a desktop, then follow good anti-static procedures, open the side cover, and check all connections (both inside the case and speaker connections).

If this is a laptop, have you tried a set of discrete speakers and/or headphones?

    Hi

Has sound/audio worked with this PC or MB before? is this the first time you installed Windows 7 on this PC and if so did you run the Windows 7 upgrade advisor app to check that your PC/MB was compatible?

If nto run it HERE, plus also do give us the answers and the attached log that Caliban has mentioned above as this will help.
