No auto-play upon insertion of cd/dvd

Nothing appears on my screen when I put cd/dvd in. I have one for "Dragon Naturally Speaking" that I just bought. It says put the dvd into the dvd drive and follow the onscreen prompts. But nothing comes up.

 

What OS are you using? and what do you mean you follow the on-screen prompts and nothing happens. Do the prompts come up automatically?

 

Using windows XP. The printed material that came with it...says to "put the dvd into the dvd drive and follow the onscreen prompts".

 

Ahh, I see. So, nothing actually comes up on the screen.

dyamond - I started to try the first 2, but I got a bit scared/confused part way thru, a bit much for my simple computer "skills". So I jumped to the third one, it was an easy one to try, and holy mackerel, it worked, I was amazed. Thought I was in for a real mess, what a relief. Thanks alot, have a good one.
