No autorun on windows 7

I've bought my daughter a new laptop now after the last few events hoping if he has issues..it won't be on my machine now

however 1st disc she puts in...the autorun doesn't go from the get go when the disc is inserted,,tried a few discs but still no auto runs

as she is used to autorun can anyone tell me how to activate autorun on her new windows 7 laptop?

I feel bad just popping in and asking questions and would like to cintribute more but i have to be honest...most things electric are beyond me so i greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can offer...thanks

Hi

Autorun was changed in Windows 7 due to many malwares being able to run automatically when a media device (more so USB) was plugged in so all are set to disable by default, but click Start then type autoplay in the Start Search box and hit enter and choose autoplay from the list, then in the window that appears choose the options you want in the dropdowns for CD etc, the options now the the user more choices over what was in previous Windows versions.

Window will look like mine below, but I disable autoplay/autorun as I just dont like it running CDs I dont need the installer to run again with.
