No BIOS when power bttn is pressed ...

I have a laptop that doesnt show the BIOS when power button is pressed. The power source is good, since the indicator is on. Just a blank black screen on the laptop. System used to work yesterday since I loaded it with Windows 2000. I do not see any HD activity as well. I reseated the memory cards and the hard drive already. Also am reading up on links on the Internet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks anyone...

 

have a look for a small sunken reset switch on the underside of the laptop get a matchstick and press it

 

Are You Getting Any Warning Beeps?
Also Since You Mentioned Having A Blank Screen And No Hard Drive Activity It Might Be You Motherboard Has Died (I Had That Happen To Me Years Ago With A Desktop Computer).

 

Do you hear any fans spinning or hear the CD drive spin up? Does the CD drive open?
