No Bootable Device

What do this mean my windows 7 laptop was working for me today when i turn it back on i got this messages i don't have a boot disk and how do i find it with out a boot disk?

 

The hard disk drive is either not connected or is no longer working properly. Last time I saw a message like that was on siblings new laptop, the retailer replaced it. I ran a Linux live CD on it, no mountable device.

 

I've not had to rectify this problem but tutorials on You Tube are actually quite good. If you do a search for 'no bootable device' and You Tube, have a look at them. Generally you need to fully power off the Laptop (probably take the battery out for a while as well) and open it up and very carefully take out the hard drive and then reconnect it. There are other BIOS options mentioned to.

 

Is there any other options too or no?

 

But nvm because I am getting a new one anyway and i have try those youtube options and google options and no luck.

 

I don't see the message no more when I start my laptop up the window 7 startup screen it frozen up on the screen now but i am getting a new laptop next weeks sometime .

 

You can do a reinstall of Windows 7 by downloading a Microsoft windows 7 iso file, burn it as a bootable disk to a DVD or USB Pen-drive (min 4gb free space) then reinstall.

Yes in Windows 7 it should be on an official Microsoft sticker somewhere on the base of the laptop. If you can't see it or its rubbed out and you didn't protect it by putting sellotape over it at the beginning or even better writing it down, that's a learning experience.
In Windows 8 onwards the key is embedded into the system but can be seen using a free tool such as Belarc Advisor. So for your new system make sure you keep that key handy.

Then you may be out of luck. I don't know whether that link you posted is legal. I've never known of a 'free' way to get any Windows OS that is legal.

No, no Product Keys, just the ISOs for the various versions and languages for Windows 7. It's possible the OP's Product Key is under the battery on his laptop.

 

Without a product key, no Windows 7 disc will work. I doubt your shipped with Windows 7 Ultimate, so that product key most likely wouldn't work with this either.


I believe Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder can pull the product key off a nonbooting hard drive. I would try this first.

Go here. Since you're getting the start screen, you may be able to run a repair off the disc.

 

My laptop still is having issues I think it is a hard drive issues but I am not worrying about it I am getting a new one soon.

I did Microsoft website say the product key is not valided.

 

How did you get the Key? You said before you didn't have it.

OK that Key will only work with a Windows 7 download that is the exact same version as yours. It wont work with any other version, eg Professional or Ultimate.

 

Ok but I am not worrying about it like I say I am getting a new laptop soon .

 

I just got my new laptop today and other one is hard drive issues the hard drive have to be replaced .
