Hi, Im Trying to get a modem working in XP but when i go to hyperterminal to test it it asks what country i'm in only there's nothing in the drop down box and if i try to type nothing happens

This is a clean install of XP

if i click ok it says Missing Information
You must select the country or region you are calling from

Plug and Play detected it and installed the drivers from cd. The modem shows up in device manager but in modems not in network devices ;)

We have installed many of these devices but not had a problem previously.

I just had this happen and the only thing that Google turns up is this thread. For my case, I discovered that a Windows service called "Telephony" was disabled. I set the service to automatic or manual and started the service. Once the Telephony service was running, the dialog box populated correctly.
