   I have an HP Pavilion 6640c with windows 98. When I turn the computer on it boots up but when it gets to the desktop there are no Icons, start menu or a tool bar. Is there anything I can do to restore these???

   Welcome to Major Geeks.
   
   If you have no icons, toolbar or start menu, one thing to try is:
   
   1) Press CTL - ALT - DLT
   2) Select File
   3) Select New Task
   4) Type explorer.exe
   5) Click OK
