No disk error REPEATEDLY

We keep getting a no disk error, repeatedly. It pops up about every 10 minutes or so prompting us to put in a disk with 3 options.. This has just started happening. I ran PCcillin antivirus 2006 which is up to date and Spy Sweeper. Sweeper found nothing and PCcillin found a few things which we removed. Still, we get the messages. I have attatched a Hijackthis log.
Please help, this is very annoying.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

• Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
• Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

• After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

• When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
  • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
  • Bitdefender - from step 6
  • Panda Scan - from step 6
  • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
  • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
  • HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

One qustion though.... Since in the tutorial it was said to show hidden files (which I did) should I now go back and hide them? What, if any are the consequences of keeping them "unhidden"?

 

Ahhh......Ok... I guess I'll go elsewhere next time..

Sorry about that. I've not been well.

There are no particular consequences of keeping the files unhidden.

The main reason that windows keeps files system files hidden is to prevent accdental deletion. Personally I like to keep my files unhidden as I like to see whats going on. Its up to you at the end of the day, if lots of people use the computer i'd say Hide them again, if you are computer savvy then theres no harm leaving them unhidden. I guess if you unsure you should hide them again just to be on the safe side!
