No email pics with email

Getting email from some individuals with pictures embedded in body,a rather than attachments.
However, I am not receiving the pictures, only a "box" that I assume is the size of the picture, and what I believe are captions for the pictures.
There is nothing to indicated my security system intercepted or blocked them as malware, there is no indication about what is transpiring. no "remote" as I see on incoming ads, and the sender has no idea why.
Anyone weigh in on this?

How do you view your email, via web browser or an email client such as Outlook, Windodws Live Mail, etc.? Can you view pictures in mail from other senders?

Same question for the sender; how do they do email? Does the sender know that the same message they send to you, that you can not see the image in, can be viewed by other recipients?

 

Have you tried double clicking the box or the caption? Right clicking them and seeing if "save as" is an option?
