No executables work, can't use Spyware removal

Hi,
It's my first post so i hope i am clear explaining what is my problem:
All my executable files, cant be opened. i followed a thread on this problems, where it was mentioned this was a registry problem. so after opening the computer on safe mode with command prompt i managed to update the registry file.
Everything seemed ok.... during 2 minutes, then it happened again, i was trying to follow the sticky but i can't execute the files either.
Anyone got this problem before?

Btw, when this happened, i was alerted by Ad-aware ad watch, and i allways have norton logged on startup.
First all the executables i tryed to open were like they were a .lnk trying to find wich program to use.
now that i added .exe (application) to the list they appear as .exe but still ask what program shall i use to open the *.exe file im trying.
