    Hi all

Recently formatted my own PC, and got it up and running fine, with a little help from you all here at MG!

I also just formatted my brother's PC, but now I am unsure of how to get him back and connected to the internet. We have cable net running through a WGR614 netgear wire/wireless router. He is connected to the router via ethernet cable. He doesn't have any LAN connection under his network connections - do I need a driver for the network adapter?

He is on an Emachines T2858. I just opened it up - I can't identify the network adapter (it's just a small metal box, not a PCI card)

    Thanks! - steve

If you have a driver/chipset or restore disk which came with the computer, you need to reinstall the mobo drivers and integrated component drivers. Many eMachines use RealTek chips for lan, but it could be another brand.
