no internet after removing trojan

Here's my problem:
A couple of days ago I removed some spyware using hijackme. But now, somehow my internet doesn't work anymore... I can access the LAN without problems, but i can't get to the internet with any program. My brother, who's using the same connection with his computer has no problems at all...

Your mean HijackThis?

You shouldnt fix anything with HJT unless your 100% familiar with it. Not everything HJT finds is bad and removing the wrong entry can cause major problems.

If you have ran it then you should still have it, please attach a fresh HJT log from normal mode.

 

Yeah, sorry, of course I meant HijackThis! I'm a bit stupid today...
A friend did the scanning for me, so I don't know what he did exactly...
Ok, I will get a Log in a few minutes, hang on...

 

Ok, here we go... Finally back, it's all a bit complicated without internet...

 

Please look in Add or Remove Programs for the following and Uninstall them if found:

Messenger Plus! 3

Please print out these instructions so that you can operate with All Browser Windows CLOSED.

Please make sure System Restore is OFF and the Viewing of Hidden Files & Folders is Enabled as per the tutorial.


Now, look in Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) for the following running process and, if you see it, try to END it:

MsgPlus.exe

Now scan with HijackThis and Check the Boxes for the following:

Make sure All Browser Windows are Closed when you Click FIX.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MessengerPlus3] "C:\Programme\Messenger Plus! 3\MsgPlus.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MessengerPlus3] "C:\Programme\Messenger Plus! 3\MsgPlus.exe" /WinStart

Again, make sure All Browser Windows are Closed when you Click FIX.

NOW:
Navigate to and DELETE the following if they should remain:

C:\Progam Files\Messenger Plus! 3 ←–– Delete this whole folder if it exist!

NEXT:
Run CCleaner and Spybot S&D and have Spybot fix what it finds.
Note: Dont forget to update Spybot S&D by selecting "Search For Updates"

Then, as an added precaution, Go to Start > Run and type: cleanmgr and then click OK. Make sure the boxes for these are checked:
Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

And Click OK.


After you have completed ALL of the steps above, reboot and post a fresh HJT log.

 

ok, I removed MSPlus! But that didn't change anything except for 2 bluescreens after reboots (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA). But now at least windows works without any further problems. Still the problem with the internet remains... Here another HiJackThis-Scan...

 

Your HJT log is clean!

For the internet problem, download and run the following utility.

WinSock XP Fix 1.2

Click FIX when the utility loads, afterwards your system will reboot. Let me know if problem remains.
