no internet after zero access rootkit virus

Hi,
I have a weird problem. I had the zero access rootkit virus and, after much searching on google, managed to get rid of it. It trashed my windows firewall and again I managed to restore it via google. Now I have no internet access at all, not even in safe mode. I can access another computer via the router so it's not my router or NIC. Windows Network Troubleshooting "can't identify the problem". I can access the routers menu page. I can

ping google at 74.125.227.102 but I can't reach google.com. There are no yellow triangles in the device manager page. I think it's a DNS problem. I have done both "netsh winsock reset" and "netsh int ip reset" and both were successful. I have uninstalled TCP/IP -reboot- and reinstalled it. I have tried "ipconfig /flushdns" and "ipconfig /registerdns" and both were successful. I've done "SFC /SCANNOW". Also the network connection status still shows a flow of packets going in out. I also installed new drivers for my computer. Still no internet. I'm stumped. What have I not tried? Please help. I don't want to reinstall windows. I'm running windows 7 home premium with firefox.
