I was using on my Dell Laptop with Windows 7 today and the internet stopped working. I checked my connections icon and it shows that I am connected to my wireless network, however, it also says "No Internet Access". All the other wired and wireless computers in the house on the same network are working fine.

When I run the connections diagnosis it runs through all the checks and tells me my moden is not working and to call my Internet Provider.

Obviously the issue is not with my modem as all the other computers on this network have working internet. My wireless router is a Lynksys WRT320N

    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Today I took the above laptop to a local Wi-Fi hotspot. I was able to log onto the Wi-Fi but again can't connect to the internet.

My connections message says I am connected to the network, however above it it says No Internet Available. I can discoonect and reconnect from the network but no internet.

Also, My McCaffee security program says I am up to date. I did a full scan anyway and no problems were found.

Still hoping for some good advice,
    Thanks,
    Chris

Do a System Restore to a day or 2 ago.
Evidently there is a McAfee update released late last week that is causing this problem. I would contact McAfee about this.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunatly it did not work. all restore points I chose go through the motions and in the end tell me that no files were changed because the restore point was damaged.

I tried this from the McAfee site without success.

I followed the instructions for workaround 1 and 2. When I tried the ipconig/release then ipconfig/renew

The message I then get says no operation can be performed on wireless connection while it has its media disabled. How do I fix that?

Problem solved. I uninstalled McAfee Security completely and now I have Internet.

The first thing I used the internet for is to put Norton Security on the laptop. McAfee just lost a customer.

We appreciate the feedback on the problem in case someone else runs into it.
I hope you did not lose too much $$ in the transaction replacing the McAfee subscription.

There are free alternatives if you ever need to change again.
